Assignment 25A: What's Next?

Existing Markets:

What’s next? For my business the next step in providing services is by adding an important aspect to it. I will plan to provide optional services that will give the customer to be present during the repair of his/her boat during a small repair in hopes that they will retain the knowledge and will be able to fix small things themselves in case they are stranded on the boat.

Interview 1: After I asked what else to do, he said provide a lobby with food/drinks and have a employee/client meeting so they make a personal connection. He claims that this would be a good idea and would add even further to my provided services.

Interview 2: This interviewee said almost the same as my idea, but a little different. She said that I should actually provide a class for motor repairs and potential repairs that could lead to sinking in case of an emergency while one is out on the water. Once I presented my idea, she actually agreed that this would be better and will provide hands on learning that could help with a client’s future in devours.

Interview 3: For this, the interviewee said all services are already being performed. As long as the repairs were done professionally, in a reasonable time, and at a fair price, then all of the client’s needs and wants are definitely satisfied. This is what a boat mechanic does, and this is all that I am required to do. Once I presented my idea this persona claims that would be a separate business idea, but that if I did include it, it would ensure to differentiate me from competitors.

What is most sense in terms of growing in future? 2-3 par.
For me to grow in the future potential markets, there is three important elements I must provide to supersede over my competitors. I must act professionally and must ensure all of my employees do so as well. I must meet deadlines and always please my customers to provide for my free advertising and customer satisfaction.

If I did want to provide additional service I should definitely take it into further consideration. I should think about the potential advantages and disadvantages, so I can ensure that this will not affect my services negatively in a major way.

New Market:

Radically different market? I will look to provide my services in training mechanics.

How will this create value in that market? This will allow me to get employees under contract that have been taught the way of performing my needed fillings and this will improve my services for the market.

Interview 1: I interviewed one of my friends that is a potential employee of my business and I asked him about this training service. He said this would be extremely beneficial and would lead to better success of my company. This would help the mechanics become professionals and would show how I would need them to perform to be successful.

Interview 2: Also, I interviewed another potential employee and the same exact thing was said. He also thinks this would assist me and would enforce contracts that will force my employees to stay with me if I put in the consideration of them being trained under my wing.

Reflect about new market and what I learned? I think this is a great potential breach into a new market. Although it does not attest to direct profits it will allow me to rake benefits in the future and will ensure that my company is ran how I want it to by my employees.

I think this is a necessity to provide free services to my potential employees. It will teach them how to become efficient, effective and better at their potential job. It will allow me to enforce contracts that requires them to stay if I train them to be professionals in this field.

  1. Dylan,
Great job with the first phase of this post, with the opportunity section I believe that a large portion of entrepreneurship is our ability to see opportunity, and then our fearlessness to capitalize on it when its out there.

  2. Dylan,
I really enjoyed reading your post about the future of your product. I think that you are heading the right direction from where you are. I really like where you talked about how you were going to teach the customers how to fix small issues with their boats. Having owned a boat most of my life I can tell you that knowing how to fix little things can save you a lot of money and you will see the person who taught you as a trustworthy person and you build a favorable relationship.

  3. Dylan,
Your mentality about not always getting profit for the good of the customer is the same mentality I had for my product! At times not gaining in every aspect will help in future endeavors because you have a solid customer base!

  4. Hey Dylan!
Great job on this week’s blog post! I really enjoyed that you will give customers the option to be present for minor repairs that need to be fixed on their boats. Allowing customers to do this will show that you are being truthful about your knowledge with boats, and it will give them a sense of security that they hired the perfect person for the job. Overall, great job!
