Assignment 11A: Napkin No. 1

1.     I am Dylan Lopez from Tampa, Florida. Some of my talents include being hardworking, goal- oriented, organized, and a natural born leader. My skills are communication, ability to work under pressure, time management, and adaptability. I would like my boat company to grow around the coast of America, and popularize the title of my corporation and grow my business into a national chain. My goal for this business is to play the role of supporting my family and could be my main source of income.
2.     I will offer a professional and timely boat repair in Tampa to start off with. I will also offer reconstruction of old boats for customers. These professional services are not currently offered in Tampa and I will meet this unmet need to customers.
3.     I want my services to reach all boat owners around the Tampa Bay area. This could be men or women who are struggling to meet their needs. Any boat owner that uses my services will spread the word and the corporation will hopefully be well known outside of Tampa as well, as it continues to grow. I will start small in my region and grow big via internet and word of mouth from previous customers who are satisfied with the job we have done.
4.     Customers will use this product because of the professionalism and quick work that is being done. Typically, boat repairs can take weeks, months, or even more time. I will give a deadline and do my absolute best to stick to it and not disappoint any customers. Many boat owners all around struggle to find a repair service that provides all of these needs and this is what my business would successfully, fix.
5.     My company is set apart from many others because I will have professional workers that will work hard to meet deadlines and create a healthy environment for success. These workers will do their jobs accurately and efficiently and will be compensated for their work. Most boat repair companies around the Tampa have a relaxed environment where work is rarely done, and it is usually done on their own time or “when they feel like it.” People want to get their boats fixed and get out on the water as soon as possible and do not have time and money to waste on these lengthy repairs. My company will resolve this problem and become notorious for its strict schedules.

I think this can be a strong company and fulfill the requirements presented, the only challenge or weaker aspect is finding the right people for the job that will be committed to following the strict schedule. I will have to find hard working and professional mechanics that are able to complete the task at hand and provide the work ethic that I am looking for. After this review, I realized the potential for this business opportunity and I will work in the perfect area that will meet the needs of customers. This is a major problem in the Tampa Bay area, and I am confident that this business will be a success in solving these problems for fellow boat owners.

  1. Hi Dylan,
I think the talents and skills you possess are very important in being an entrepreneur because they can help build your credibility. I also like that you are aware of the relaxed nature of other boat companies. This will be a great way for your boat repair company to stand out. I think the long wait time would be another unmet need that your company could satisfy.
