Assignment 15A: Buyer Behavior
The first interview said how quality is the most important
aspect when it comes to boat repairs and remodeling. He stated that he would
pay any price if the work done on his boat was professional and “for once” done
on time. For this interview it is clear that quality and professionalism is
what is most needed to get his business. Price comes secondly, but since he
said he would pay anything shows this is not an important aspect to focus on.
The second interview was more interesting in how he stated
almost the same general aspect. He said if the work was done right and deadline
were met he would pay a “reasonable” price for the work that was performed. He included
the word reasonable to assure the work was credible of such payment. For this potential
customer, quality and work come first with payment coming second, but
definitely more important than the first interview.
The third interview said how timing is the most important. He
said he has always been upset with missed deadlines and how each boat mechanic
has their own quirks to fix before they win his business completely. He said
quality is important, but if quality is not done on time it is worth nothing to
him. People tend to make plans using their marine vessels and if they cannot
use it due to the boat being in the shop, they become very unhappy. This
interview shows us how important it is to meet deadlines and assure the
customer that their boat will be ready for use when we say it is.
All of these interviews are very similar. In conclusion I
would say that first quality is the most important aspect of the business. If
quality is not met than nothing is done for neither the customer or the
company. Due to the third interview, I would say timing and deadlines is the
second most important attribute with price following dead last. They all hinted
towards or said it straight up that if the work was done timely and professional
that they would pay just about any price. Over all these interviews have shown
how my potential opportunity could thrive in Tampa.
Hey Dylan!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this week’s blog post! Most of your interviewees seemed to agree that the work on their boats would need to be completed in a timely manner, which I can agree with since maintenance work on boats usually takes a while. They also agreed that the quality of the work, along with the price of completing the job, are strong issues when customers look for boat mechanics. Overall, I think you did great!
