Assignment 26A: Failure

Failure:

A failure I received this year was on assignment 16 in this class. I was so busy during this week and this certain post required so much extra work to get it done, and there was no way I could do it. It was an extremely tedious and time-consuming assignment that required 5 total videos of interviews and I did not have the spare time to do that. I received a 0 for this assignment, and this was a fail for me.

I learned to manage my time better and for long assignments and classes that actually unlock that entire semester in the beginning, pick a day and do as much as you can. This is a great way to time manage in a class that requires such a consistent work load. If I saw the tests coming up in advance that led to my 0, I could have planned accordingly and got this done.

Failure is hard. Sometimes it can also be embarrassing like all of the fail memes out there in the world, but in this case, no. This is just one assignment I missed, and my grade will reflect it, but not immensely. I am probably more willing to take a risk than I was in the beginning of the semester because I got "out there" in the blog list and shared my opportunity and ideas.

  1. Dylan,
I like how you were honest with yourself and how you dove into this assignment, assignment 16 I actually do remember because it was one of the first where we actually had to interview people which was out of a lot our comfort zones.

  2. Hey Dylan!
Great job on this week’s blog post. I can definitely agree that assignment 16 in this class was extremely difficult since it required you to have 5 recorded interviews. Time management in college is a necessity in order to be active in student organizations and receive the grades that you want. One point that I enjoyed the most about your post is your explicit definition of failure as embarrassing. This is something that most people cannot admit. Overall, great job!

  3. Hi Dylan,
Good job on your post about failure. It was very relatable. there were some assignments that made me question whether or not I should do them because of the time required, so your failure is definitely relatable. I agree with you when you said that failure is hard but it is also a great way to learn and improve.
