Assignment 9A: Testing the Hypothesis Part 2

Who: After conducting my five interviews, I found that people do not need my services. These individuals are those that either fix their boats themselves or have a reliable boat mechanic.

The first two interviewees were at the Gandy boat ramp in Tampa, FL. They both go fishing commercially every day and therefore fix their boat problems themselves.

My third interview showed me that he, personally, was satisfied with his boat mechanic and has kept him for many years.

My fourth interview gave me a general idea of how the young boat owners in Tampa go about fixing their vessels. They usually take their boats to the dealership of which they purchased the boat.

My fifth interview opened my eyes up to another potential market. This was with a boat mechanic shop I worked for over summer of 2017. They were super unorganized and never met deadlines and if they were under the proper management, they would be much more successful and reliable.

What: These interviews prove that some people do not need my potential services of boat repairing because they do it themselves or rarely, have their own reliable boat mechanic.

Why: I still believe the majority of people need my services and could benefit from something like this.

  1. Dylan, excellent job with the "Why" portion of this post. Your opportunity is one that certainly needs to be addressed, and I've never been Tampa and I can see this. The more professional needs to be implemented.

  2. Hey Dylan!
Great job on this week’s post! I truly enjoy your business opportunity as there is definitely a need for it in the Tampa area. Something I wish you went more in-depth on was the people you interviewed. Knowing their age and their needs would allow the reader to understand the perspective of the interviewees as a whole. Overall, I believe your business opportunity would be a huge success!
